On-site dermatology care for senior living residents

LOCAL DERMATOLOGY CARE EVERYWHERE

We meet patients where they are and eliminate burdensome travel to a dermatology office. We detect skin cancer early and prevent ER visits for dermatologic conditions. We are experienced dermatology providers with a successful, established practice. We have a proven track record in delivering personalized, compassionate care that has resulted in high patient satisfaction.

If patients require more extensive services that we are not able to perform on-site we will collaborate with our referral network to ensure appropriate care.

When do you visit residents?

We see residents when they need care— ideally, this is on a regular basis to foster preventative care, follow-up and a provider-patient relationship.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will residents receive scheduled appointment times?

On-site visits are accomplished during a window of time at a community (i.e. 9am-12pm). If residents prefer a specific time, this is noted during the Main Street Dermatology confirmation process.

What information is needed prior to scheduling an appointment?

For independent residents, we require demographic information, intake/consent form and insurance information. For assisted living residents, we require a copy of the resident’s facesheet and an intake/consent form.

Can we call to have you come as needed?

We believe that prevention is the best medicine. Please call us if you need us but we prefer regular visits.

How are services paid for?

Just like an in-person dermatology visit Medicare and supplemental insurances are billed and co-pays are collected, if applicable. Responsible parties are billed for any remaining balance. Communities are not responsible or involved in the payment process.

Where are residents seen?

Care is ideally provided in a private, common area in the community, but residents can be seen in individual rooms due to physical limitations, if needed.

Do you offer educational presentations?

Yes, we offer a complimentary educational presentation on overall skin health and skin changes for senior living residents, staff members and families to foster continuing education.

How do patients receive their prescriptions?

Assisted living residents will receive their prescriptions through the senior living communities’ preferred pharmacy. Independent residents can choose their preferred pharmacy. If needed, we work closely with a local pharmacy to mail prescriptions and OTC items directly to resident mailboxes.

Are there additional costs?

No, there are no additional costs to seeing residents inside a community. Medicare insurance is billed like a regular dermatology visit.

Who see’s the residents?

With the support of a Board-Certified Dermatologist, experienced and highly skilled geriatric dermatology and dementia certified advanced practice providers (NPs & PAs) see every resident.
